For the world, having freed me from the curse, you have become higher than the sky, and the devotee who considered me everything was deceived, and today I am at your feet, the remorse for this deceit done to you, I will do it for ages, this sacrifice of yours, this creation will never forget. Imagine a plant without which even the offering of Lord Vishnu himself is considered incomplete, the holy plant which was born from the tears of Lord Vishnu himself, to which we offer water daily in the courtyard of our homes, before which we bow our heads, is this just an ordinary plant, is this just a vegetation, no, this is such a great and heartbreaking saga, thinking about which even today the eyes of the gods become moist, this is the story of the biggest deceit of the universe, supreme devotion, and such a curse that turned the preserver of creation Lord Vishnu into stone. In today’s journey, we will turn those pages of history and mythology where a devotee brought God to his knees, this story is not just of a war, this story is of religion, karma and that supreme truth that when God also crosses limits, then they also have to suffer the consequences of their actions, so hold your breath because today we will take you towards that great war and that great sacrifice which changed the destiny of the entire universe. To fully understand this story, we have to turn the wheel of time a little bit back, we have to go to the time when the most powerful and invincible demon of this universe was born, and you might be surprised to know that this demon was not born from the womb of a demon, but from the fiery energy of Lord Shiva himself.

Once Devraj Indra, blinded by his ego, was going towards Kailash to meet Lord Shiva, on the way Shiva took the form of an ascetic to test him and blocked his way, Indra in his ego told that ascetic to move away, leave the way ascetic, but when he did not move, Indra angrily dared to attack him with his Vajra, at that very moment the third eye of Mahadev standing in the form of an ascetic opened, from that third eye such a fierce fire of anger came out which would have reduced Indra to ashes right there, but Deaguru Brihaspati timely asked forgiveness from Shiva, Indra’s life was saved, but that destructive fire coming out from the third eye of Mahadev could not go back, that fire was thrown by Lord Shiva into the Kshir Sagar i.e. ocean, as soon as that divine fire collided with the water of the ocean, a fierce explosion happened, the waves of the ocean started touching the sky, and from the union of that fire and ocean a child was born, that child as soon as it was born cried so loudly that the entire universe trembled with his crying, Brahma ji himself came to the sea shore to see that child, when he picked up that child in his lap, that small infant pulled Brahma ji’s beard so hard that Brahma ji also felt pain,

Brahma ji understood that this is not an ordinary child, because it was born from water and inside it was the immense energy of Shiva, therefore Brahma ji named him Jalandhar, Jalandhar was the son of the ocean, hence he was made the king of Patatal Lok, as he grew up his powers started increasing unimaginably, he became the greatest emperor of demons, on the other hand in the clan of demons themselves, a girl was born in the house of a demon named Kalnemi, she was named Vrinda, despite being born in a demon clan Vrinda did not have any demon-like qualities, since childhood she used to sit in front of the idol of Lord Vishnu for hours meditating, her mind was pure, her soul was pure, and her appearance was radiant like some divine goddess, Vrinda’s destiny had such a chapter written which was going to make her the most worshipped woman of the universe, time passed and Vrinda became eligible for marriage, her marriage was fixed with that very mighty demon Jalandhar, on one side Jalandhar who had the fire of Shiva’s anger and the ego of demons inside him, on the other side Vrinda who was a supreme devotee of Vishnu and an idol of compassion, after marriage Vrinda dedicated her entire life to her husband Jalandhar, she became a great chaste woman, Vrinda’s chastity, her pathivrata religion and her unbroken Vishnu devotion, these three together created such an invincible security shield around Jalandhar that it was impossible for any weapon of this universe to pierce it, on the strength of this chastity of Vrinda, Jalandhar got the boon that as long as his wife Vrinda’s chastity and pathivrata religion remain unbroken, no weapon of the universe, no god, even the Tridev themselves will be able to harm him, and from here started the game of Jalandhar’s destructive ego, blinded by the intoxication of his immortality and invincible power, Jalandhar created havoc in all the three worlds, he first attacked Swarg, Devraj Indra’s army was crushed like ants in front of him, Jalandhar captured Swarg and drove the gods away from there.

All the gods hid themselves in forests and caves to save their lives, Jalandhar’s argument was that since during the churning of the ocean whatever 14 gems came out, all of them came from the ocean and because he himself is the son of the ocean, therefore all those gems, Mata Lakshmi and the wealth of Swarg only belong to him, in this ego he also attacked Vaikunth, the abode of Lord Vishnu, fierce war took place between Vishnu ji and Jalandhar, but Lord Vishnu knew that Jalandhar is the brother of Mata Lakshmi because both were born from the ocean itself, hence Vishnu ji did not kill him rather sent him back from Vaikunth, but Jalandhar’s hunger did not stop here, his pride had now crossed that limit from where return was impossible, he decided that he will now defeat Mahadev, the god of gods, Jalandhar directly marched towards Kailash, at the foothills of Kailash a fierce war started between the huge army of demons and the ganas of Lord Shiva which made the entire universe tremble, Nandi, Kartikeya and Veerabhadra slaughtered the demon army heavily, but when Jalandhar himself stepped into the battlefield, no one could stand in front of him, ultimately Lord Vishnu had to step into the battlefield with his trident, such a destructive war took place between Shiva and Jalandhar as was never seen before in the universe, space started cracking due to Shiva’s attacks, but something was happening in the battlefield which left Mahadev also astonished, Shiva’s most lethal attacks, their infallible divine weapons were colliding with Jalandhar’s body and returning back, Shiva’s trident was also not able to end Jalandhar, Jalandhar used to stand up even more powerful after every attack, why was this happening, because miles away from that battlefield sitting in the solitude of her palace Vrinda was performing a great ritual for the protection of her husband, she had given up food and water, she was engrossed in meditation without blinking holding a Vishnu garland in one hand, her pathivrata religion was acting as an impenetrable wall protecting Jalandhar, seeing all this the gods got scared, Brahma ji and all the gods reached Kshir Sagar running to Lord Vishnu, O gods save us Narayan, save us, creation is getting destroyed by Jalandhar’s ego, Mahadev’s trident is also ineffective on him, if today Jalandhar is not ended then Kailash will be destroyed, religion will lose, protect us Lord, Lord Vishnu got caught in a huge religious dilemma, he was all-knowing, he knew everything, he knew that Jalandhar’s power is not his own but the power of Vrinda’s devotion and her chastity, there was only one way in the entire universe to kill Jalandhar, breaking that ritual of Vrinda and violating her chastity, but can the preserver of creation who incarnates for the protection of religion do such a big deceit with his own truest and sinless devotee, what was Vrinda’s fault, her only fault was that she was a good wife, a deep conflict was going on in the mind of Lord Vishnu,

to save the universe Vishnu had to commit such a sin whose stigma he had to bear for ages, ultimately for the balance of creation and protection of religion Lord Vishnu kept a stone on his heart, with a heavy heart he took the form of Jalandhar, the war between Lord Shiva and Jalandhar was going on in the battlefield when Vishnu ji with his illusion made two illusory pieces of Jalandhar and dropped them in the courtyard of Vrinda’s palace, this was a severed head and torso which looked exactly like Jalandhar, Vrinda who was meditating in the palace heard a loud explosion and her eyes opened, she ran to the courtyard, seeing her husband’s severed head and blood-soaked torso in front, the ground slipped from under Vrinda’s feet, she started crying screaming, her ritual had broken, Vrinda was still lamenting when a sage appeared there, this sage was none other than Lord Vishnu himself, O sage what kind of thunderbolt has fallen on this chaste woman, who killed my lord, I catch your feet, bring my lord alive with your powers otherwise I will also sacrifice my life this moment, daughter if your faith is unwavering then I can try to bring your husband alive again with my ascetic power, Om Shanti Shanti Shanti Om Namah Shivay Shivay, as soon as Vrinda saw her husband alive and standing safe, there was no limit to her happiness, she felt that her penance and her faith in Lord Vishnu had won, she stepped forward and embraced Lord Vishnu standing in the guise of Jalandhar, Swami you have returned alive, I knew that my chastity, my religion and the grace of my Narayan will not let any harm come to your life, Lord Vishnu in the guise of Jalandhar in a heavy voice, with your chastity and loyalty, who can defeat me in these three worlds dear, and at that very moment that great catastrophe happened, Vrinda touching a stranger considering him her husband broke her resolve, her pathivrata religion which till now had become the biggest security shield of the universe broke in the blink of an eye, and as soon as Vrinda’s chastity was violated, that divine security shield suddenly disappeared from Jalandhar’s body in the battlefield there, all the powers of Jalandhar faded in a jerk, Lord Shiva who was waiting for this moment saw the opportunity, Mahadev picked up his trident and attacked Jalandhar with full force, the trident pierced Jalandhar’s chest and Lord Shiva separated Jalandhar’s head from his torso with his chakra, the most powerful demon of the universe was finally killed, the gods showered flowers from the sky and started chanting victory to Shiva, but there in Vrinda’s palace a different disaster was about to come, Jalandhar’s severed real head flying due to the speed of Shiva’s attack came and fell directly into the courtyard of Vrinda’s palace, when Vrinda saw that severed head her whole body became void, her breathing stopped, she looked at her husband’s real severed head lying at her feet and then slowly raised her eyes to look at the person standing in front of her who was still in the guise of her husband, Vrinda if my lord are lying dead there then who is this in front of me, who are you, who has done this great deceit with a helpless woman, come in your real form deceiver, t

he walls of the entire palace trembled with her scream, Lord Vishnu’s illusory form broke, the four-armed Narayan holding conch, chakra, mace and lotus appeared there in his real attire, but today there was no familiar smile on his face, today Narayan was standing in front of his own devotee with bowed head like a criminal, his eyes were also moist, Vrinda’s sorrow turned into a fierce anger, the god whom she had worshipped so selflessly from childhood till today, whom she trusted more than her life, the same god had snatched everything from her, tears were flowing continuously from Vrinda’s eyes and her whole body was trembling with the flame of anger, O Narayan what have you done, the devotee who considered you her all, with her you did such a big hypocrisy, from birth till today I have not worshipped anyone else except you and you destroyed my pathivrata religion, Lord Vishnu remained silent, they knew that Vrinda’s anger was completely justified, Vrinda further said you have behaved like stone with me, like a stone there is no mercy in your heart, no compassion, no emotion, your heart is like a stone, therefore with the full power of my chastity I curse you that this divine form of yours be destroyed this very moment and you turn into stone, this deceit of yours will be remembered in this stone form for ages, the power of those tears and her chastity of Vrinda was so fierce that Lord Vishnu, the preserver of creation, the master of the universe, started freezing in his place at that very moment, his divine blue body started becoming hard and within seeing Lord Vishnu turned into a black lifeless stone, seeing Lord Vishnu turning into stone havoc broke out in the entire universe, cries of save us echoed, the balance of nature started getting disturbed, without the preserver this creation came to the verge of destruction, all the gods, Brahma ji and Mata Lakshmi herself reached Vrinda’s palace running, Mata Lakshmi’s heart was breaking, she fell weeping at Vrinda’s feet, O Vrinda I understand your pain, the injustice done to you has no forgiveness, but please take back your curse, if my lord remain stone then this creation will end, I beg you for my husband’s life, as a woman protect my vermilion, Vrinda’s heart might have broken, but she was ultimately a compassionate woman, seeing Mata Lakshmi weeping at her feet her heart melted, who can understand a woman’s pain better than another woman, Vrinda joined both her hands and took back that fierce curse with the power of her chastity, as soon as he was freed from the curse Lord Vishnu came back to his divine form, but Vrinda’s own life was completely finished now, her husband had been killed, her religion had broken and she had no desire left to live, Vrinda kept her husband Jalandhar’s head in her lap, she looked at Lord Vishnu for the last time and burnt herself with her yoga fire, she became sati, only a pile of ash was left there, Lord Vishnu sat on his knees near that ash, today God had lost and a devotee had won, tears were continuously flowing from Vishnu ji’s eyes, his tears of remorse started falling on that holy ash of Vrinda, and then a miracle happened,

from the union of those tears of Lord Vishnu and Vrinda’s holy ash a new life sprouted there, from that pile of ash a lush green, extremely beautiful and fragrant plant emerged, that plant was holy, pure and life-giving just like Vrinda, Lord Vishnu touched that plant with his hands, Lord Vishnu O Vrinda the remorse for this deceit done to you I will do for ages, this sacrifice of yours this creation will never forget, from today you will take birth in the form of this plant which the entire universe will know by the name of Tulsi, Vishnu ji further said one form of mine will always remain on this earth in the form of this Shaligram stone due to that curse given by you and you will always sit on my head in the form of Tulsi, this is my promise Vrinda that no ritual of the universe, no worship of mine, no offering of mine will ever be accepted without you, where there are Shaligrams the presence of Tulsi will be mandatory, and to immortalize this great remorse, love and promise every year on the day of Devuthani Ekadashi of Kartik month a festival is celebrated which we call Tulsi Vivah, on this day the Shaligram form of Lord Vishnu is married with Mata Tulsi with full rituals and grandeur, this is not just a festival or tradition, this is that day of the universe when God accepted his mistake in front of the entire world, this is the day which tells us that the rule of karma is same even for God, whoever does karma will have to suffer its fruit, then whether he himself is Narayan, this saga teaches us that true devotion, loyalty and chastity have so much power that they can force even God to kneel down on earth, can turn them into stone, even today when we light a lamp in front of the Tulsi plant in our homes, we are not just worshipping a plant but we are bowing to that great sacrifice of Vrinda, her invincible chastity and her immortal devotion, friends these stories of our puranas are not just pages of past, these are the foundation of deepest philosophy of life, truth and justice on which this universe rests, in the next video we will take you beyond time when this universe was only an infinite darkness, there was no sun, no earth nor any sky, then how the first sound of Om echoed amidst that void, how a divine lotus appeared from the navel of Lord Vishnu and how the birth of creator of creation Brahma ji himself happened from that lotus, what is that biggest secret of Brahma ji’s origin and that unimaginable saga of the cutting of his fifth head which very few people know, if this heartbreaking saga of Vrinda, Jalandhar’s ego and Lord Vishnu’s religious dilemma touched your heart then do like this video, write with full devotion in the comment section Jai Mata Tulsi or Jai Shri Hari so that this sacrifice of Vrinda always remains immortal, subscribe our channel and press the bell button so that no untold and mysterious story of our puranas is left out from you, see you in the next mysterious journey.
