Lilly & Jack Sullivan: A cadaver dog hit and a grave site dig

Good morning everyone. My name is Michelle. I hope you’re doing well. Welcome to another video. It is Thursday morning, the 6th of August, and it is a long time since we went to Nova Scotia on this channel, but we’re going there today to the case of two missing siblings, then just six and four years old, Lily and Jack Sullivan, who have been missing since the 2nd of May, 2025.

They were reported missing by their mother, Malaya Brooks Mary, at 10:01 a.m. on that day. The case became a little bit of a circus, but things have calmed down a lot in recent months because there has been no new news. Few creators arguing with each other, but no news about the case. So, I left the case alone.

 I’m back because 14 hours ago as I record this, Hidden in the Fog released a video. Now, it’s a clip from a live stream. I don’t know when this conversation actually took place. I’ve not looked into it. I just heard the clip. I’m very interested in it. And it’s something that I can give maybe some information on.

 It’s regarding a potential grave site and a cadaavver dog hit. So, let’s talk about it. Belinda is on this panel now. Belinda Gray is Lily and Jack Sullivan’s grandma. She’s their paternal grandma. She’s their biological dad’s mother. Cody Sullivan is their biological dad. He didn’t have anything to do with Lily and Jack.

 He’d signed his parental rights over to Malaya Brooks Mary, their mother. Malaya was living with Daniel Martell, who is going through the court system on unrelated charges. Daniel has come under a lot of scrutiny, as has Malaya. Some people are supporting Daniel, most people aren’t. Some people are supporting Malaya. Most people aren’t.

 A lot of people believe that Daniel, Malaya, or both of them did away with Lily and Jack. Very few people believe that Lily and Jack just wandered off and got lost in the woods around their home. I think it’s very possible for them to have just wandered off and not been found. If we take a look at the environment around where they lived, it’s uh very heavily wooded.

 However, there are tracks and trails all the way through these woods. So, this is Lilian Jack’s house here on Gailot Road, place called Landstone Station. It’s not really near anywhere. It’s just out in the sticks, but there are tracks and trails through these woods. Now, there was a blanket found. This was in the afternoon of May 2nd, the day that the children disappeared.

 Like part of a pink blanket was found on Glstone Road about a kilometer away from their house and that was judged to be Lily’s Blanket, a part of Lily’s Blanket. And then along this track here, which is a gas pipeline, is underground, but it’s kept cleared. Some bootprints were found, which were judged by RCMP to be the same size and uh make of the boots that Lily was wearing.

 So, that’s really all we know from law enforcement. However, Belinda has been doing, I guess you would say, her own investigation. and she’s been heavily involved in the search for Lilian Jack. So, that brings us onto this live stream. Belinda is talking about a potential grave site that was found at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church on Montreal Road.

And this is a fair way from Lillian Jack’s house. So, if we take a look at the map here. So, Lil Jack’s house here and then St. Andrews Church. There are a few St. Andrews churches, so I had to find the right one, but it’s here. Montreal Road and I think it’s in New Glock, maybe. Incredibly rural. But if we go to street level, you can see that I found the right church.

There’s the church and this potential grave site was found ways away from the church in I guess the beginning of the woods. So that’s the church. Apparently there are occasional services there. I don’t know how well used the church is. I mean it looks like it’s got boarded up windows on here. You look at the imagery date down there.

 August 2025. So, it’s got boarded up windows. Anyway, let’s listen to what Belinda said. I’ll put a link to this live stream in the description box. You can see there it’s the same church. You can go and listen to the rest of it yourself. I’m just going to play a few minutes of it with Belinda explaining what happened.

 A tip came in to the voluntary search organization, please bring me home, of a potential grave site. They’d contacted law enforcement. Belinda followed up to see if anything had been done and it hadn’t. So, Belinda took some people and they went and dug themselves. So, let’s pick it up from there. >> A dog handler with his cadabra dog was taken to that church.

 The dog hit on a spot and MCU was contacted. >> Oh. Now, >> so MCU, Major Crimes Unit, so major crimes unit of the RCMP, they are in control of this investigation. >> That information sat for about a month and nobody heard back. I reached out to the dog handler and I was given the coordinates. I contacted MCU and I told them, “Has [clears throat] this site been turned into them?” They stated they know about the church.

 I said, “Well, you do know that apparently a dog had hit on it.” And they stated they can’t give out any information. [snorts] So, I said, “Well, if you guys aren’t going to do anything, um, I’m going to go out and I’m going to dig it up.” [laughter] >> Good for you. >> Good for you. Yeah. >> And they told they told me to go right ahead.

>> Yeah. Good for you. But would the people who own the land not be concerned that people are just turning up digging holes? Like who owns the land? The church maybe? I don’t know. But if you get the go-ahad from the major crimes unit of the RCMP, of course you’re going to go and do it. I would.

 That’s where Belinda gets involved in this dig. >> There was three of us that went out to the site. Um, the dog handler showed exactly what the spot was. I will say when we walked to it, it actually had the shape of a grave. It was just off when you’re facing the front of the church. It was just off to the right, right inside the woodline.

>> Right. As you’re looking at it, it’s going to be here. That looked like a grave site. So, they started digging. Um, you could tell it was there for a while because it was sunk in and you could see where it was partially dug up cuz there was an embankment on both sides. It was full of dead leaves and a lot of debris.

 So, you knew it’s been there for a bit, at least a full season. >> Wow. >> We did dig dig up further until we hit the hard sediment down about I don’t know how many feet, but we hit hard sediment, never found nothing. But the dog handler did take a sample of the soil. He actually took a couple of samples of the soil.

 Um he took that sample back home. He waited a few days and he has quite a large property. So he took some of that sample and he hid it inside of a cinder block and hid it out in his field and he took his dog out to search. His [snorts] dog hit on the cinder block. He video recorded that. He actually has that posted out there.

>> Oh my god. No, I didn’t see that. >> Still, nothing has been heard from MCU, but the dog handler does stand by his dog on it did make a hit and he does believe something was there. We just don’t know what. >> Okay. So, definitely something there. And if the dog handler takes a sample of the soil away and then hides it in a completely different location.

 So the only thing that’s common to the initial hit at the church and the new hit on his property is the dirt that he took from that grave site at the church and the dog hit. So you’ve got this, I suppose, corroboration that the dog isn’t alerting to something else in that immediate environment. There was actually something in that dirt that that dog was alerting to.

 Now, here’s the thing with Kadaava dogs, human remains detection dogs. I’d like to see the video. I have no doubt that the dog handler knows his dog and knows it was a genuine hit in both locations. The common thread between them being the dirt, but it doesn’t mean to say that that was Lily and Jack.

 Now, this church is quite a ways away from their property. If we take a look at the row view, Willing Jack’s house. So you go up Glockot Road, go through New Log, and then up this road here onto Montreal Road, and there’s the church. So obviously, if you’re in a vehicle, it’s easy to get to. And it’s in the opposite direction to the bootprints and the blanket.

 So, if you believe that Lily and Jack wandered off and it was Lily that left the blanket and those were Lily’s boots, then it’s completely in the opposite direction. If there’s a grave site, it means that somebody purposefully dug a grave and put a body or bodies in there. But it doesn’t mean that that was Lily and Jack.

 Human remains detection dogs are not detecting specific people who have died. They’re alerting to scent of human remains and that could be come from any person, not a non-human animal. Human remains detection dogs are trained to discern the difference between the human species and then nonhuman animals. A newly trained dog or a dog who’s not really that good.

 I could potentially alert to animal remains. Some animals apparently are closer in scent to humans. I think pigs are quite close to humans in the the way that the decomposition smells to a dog. I don’t know. I’m not a dog, so I can’t confirm that. It’s just things that are said in the, you know, dog training community. But it’s most likely that that dog was alerting on some form of human remains.

Now the human body during the decomp process goes through several stages and some dogs are trained just on the scent of the decomposing flesh, decomposing body. Other dogs are trained on bones and creamains. So I don’t know what this specific dog was trained in. Some dogs are trained in all different types of human remains.

 So de comp cremes bones and it would be interesting to know what this dog was trained in. Now the fact that there was a decompression in the soil which looked like a grave. Yeah. If you dig a hole, put a body in it and leave it until that body has completely decomposed, then you are going to get a small depression in the soil where that body was and the soil sinks down in graveyards in cemeteries, certainly in the UK where it’s very unlikely that you’d have, you know, a concrete vault and most coffins are put in the ground

and the wood coffins, they’re treated But they will break down. And once that process has happened, it maybe got bones left, then you get that sinking in of the soil. It could mean that there was a body there in the past that has completely decomposed. Now, bones will take years to fully decompose into dust.

a human in a coffin, you’re looking at maybe 15, 20, even more years for those bones to really start to decay. And it depends on the soil, right? Depends on the size of the bones. It depends on the condition of the bones. There’s a lot of factors. But for a body to have completely disappeared into dust, it takes a long time.

 There’s other possibilities though. A body could have been there but then was dug up and taken somewhere else and the dog is still alerting on the soil because of the demp scent that has kind of spread into the soil which is what they believe happened to Michael Vaughn in Futland, Idaho. who was then 5 years old.

 Stacy Wanderer, who is currently going through the court system there in Idaho for the murder of Michael Vaughn, he has stated that he saw his wife Sarah and her friend, one of their roommates, digging a site in their backyard to put Michael Vaughn’s body in. By the way, sidebar, Stacy Wanderer is due to go to trial next month, September, but the trial date has been pushed back now on the request of the defense until next March.

So, even more waiting time for justice for Michael Vaughn. Now, Michael’s body has never been found. But in November of 2022, after Stacy made this admission, that whole backyard was dug up, Michael’s remains weren’t found. And it’s judged that when Stacy was in jail on unrelated charges, Sarah and whoever connected to her dug the body up and moved Michael’s remains, there would still be demp scent in the soil.

 So, it could be that in this place here at St. Andrew’s church. A body was buried and then was removed. But because it’s a church, here’s the thing. There could have been a burial site there in the past. That dog could be alerting on soil that had human remains in it years ago. The scent of decomposition underground can remain for years, years and years.

 So it could be that this church used to be a cemetery. Now the cemetery connected to this church is over the road here. But it could be that this was the original cemetery and because those graves were so old, maybe any gravestones or markers or anything that were there have just been taken off because they’re no longer living people visiting them.

 that whole site could look different than what it looked in the past. So it could be that that dog is alerting on the soil because that used to be a cemetery. It could be if that dog is trained on cremains that someone has gone and taken crees there and maybe dug a small grave type hole and put creams in and then covered it over.

 There’s probably more reasons I’ve not thought of, but there’s a lot of reasons why that dog might have alerted. And without actually investigating that soil itself, the chances of there being DNA in that soil, no, I I doubt it. Unless you actually find, you know, a bone or something that can be tested, then you’re not going to be able to test the soil for DNA.

 Honestly, in my opinion, I don’t believe that that was Lilian Jack. I think it’s a good find. I’m a little bit confused as to why the major crimes unit didn’t seem that concerned about it. It may be because they’ve got other information that they’ve not released as to what happened to Lilian Jack and they know it wasn’t this.

 It wasn’t anything to do with this. There could be lots of reasons why the major crimes unit weren’t particularly interested in this site. I’m glad Belinda went to investigate it for her own peace of mind. But personally, just my opinion, I don’t believe that Lil and Jack were buried there and then the bodies removed. And anything’s possible, but I think it’s more likely given the site was a church that this is an old cemetery and the grave markers are no longer there, but the dog is still alerting on that soil.
